Performance Foundry is looking for a Web Strategist who can sit down with clients, determine their needs, and present the road map to reach their goals. Performance Foundry specializes in improving WordPress sites for a variety of clients and industry. This is a part-time role that can be done from anywhere in the Americas or Europe and has the potential to be combined with an SEO consultant role the company is also hiring for if the right candidate wants to go full-time and has the skills. The Role

The Web Strategist is the one who sits down with clients and figures out how to achieve their goals. This is an important, client-facing role that is part-time and could be merged with the SEO Consultant position to create a full-time role for the right candidate. Web strategy is something that is mostly only done by Craig but it is now being turned into an official position. There is plenty of work to keep this a consistent, part-time position. As the new hire’s comfort increases, more responsibility will be given to them.

The Web Strategist understands what the client wants, what should be done, and imagines a better future.

As the Web Strategist, you must have an understanding of how the internet, site visitors, and websites all operate and interact with each other. You’ll have to ask clients the insightful questions to find out exactly what their goals are and draw the right information from them in order to help them meet those goals. It’s your job to draw a lot of connections between different pieces.

The Web Strategist will be sitting down with all new clients as it’s one of the first things we do when onboarding a new client. This is also something we do with retainer clients every 3-6 months depending on their needs. You’ll be creating the document that the team takes to execute on a successful project outcome.

Common Client Example:

We work with many different types of sites but a common client example is a blogger who wants to increase page views and RPM because their income is based on advertising. We’ll sit down with them to ask things such as:

  • What is your most valuable content?
  • How does your current structure help your SEO and SM traffic?
  • How does your structure fail you in those areas?

The client’s goal is all about generating traffic and revenue so we’ll see how we can improve the architecture of the site to get there.

To be successful in this role you need:

  • SEO knowledge and web Awareness – the context of how that web actually works and how people use websites
  • An understanding of how to nudge and influence site visitors
  • Some design and UX experience; wireframing rather than aesthetics
  • Comfortable talking with people and the ability to understand problems and needs.

This isn’t quite a project mgmt role, this is about setting direction and knowing enough about how to connect the dots between the clients’ needs, best practices, and our company’s resources and capabilities.

Koru Group Ltd has a virtual team with staff either traveling or working from their own homes and/or cafes and co-working spaces. We celebrate and enjoy the freedom and creativity this brings, but realize it can be hard to know how much work to do.

You will be responsible for tracking your own hours and there will be some compulsory meetings to attend each week.

As a global team, there are people working in every timezone. You do not need to respond to messages outside of your work hours, except in a case of emergency or for pre-arranged meetings.

In some cases, you may be asked to work over a particular time range to achieve a project goal. We expect you to make every effort to achieve this.

We may run staff/contractor meet-ups or help finance conference or similar professional development opportunities from time to time in locations around the world. If invited, we hope you will attend if possible.
