Who We Are
Here at moveBuddha.com, we’re building online tools and guides to help the 32 million Americans who move every year find great moving companies.
We’ve been working on the website for the past 5 years and have experienced a tremendous amount of growth over the past year.
The growth has opened up a number of exciting new opportunities for our business but before we can expand we need to find someone to help us continue to grow the website.
That’s where you come in!
You’ll help hire and manage a team of freelance writers to produce our existing backlog of content as well as develop and execute new content initiatives.
This is a great opportunity for a junior content creator to seriously up their skills. You will work directly with the founders. We’ll teach you everything we know about SEO, content marketing, web analytics and more. Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who can grow into managing the entire website.
Typical Day for a Remote Junior Content Marketer
- Hire/manage freelance writers
- Edit and polish content based on established editorial guidelines
- Research and write new content
- Develop new content strategies & initiatives
- Promote content through various channels
- Work with the designer for any new assets content requires
- Review website analytics to find room for improvement
- Develop, document and execute regular SEO tests
- Keep up with changes in SEO/content marketing best practices
- Create monthly reports on website KPIs
A lot of room for growth
We see this role progressing in 3 phases.
Phase 1 (1 – 2 months):
Essentially, phase 1 is a trial period.
We will bring you on as a freelance writer to write a few pieces of content. This will give us both a chance to make sure it’s a good fit. During this phase, you’ll be paid per piece of content. This would be part-time and we can work around your schedule if you have other jobs or clients.
For the right candidate, we may opt to skip this phase.
Phase 2 (4-6 months):
Assuming all goes well in Phase 1, we’ll bring you on full time.
At the start, you’ll still be writing some pieces while also finding good freelance writers and moving more into an editor role. During this phase, we’ll spend a lot of time meeting to teach you best practices as well as discuss overall strategy.
This is where things get interesting. By now you’ll have hired a team of freelance writers, developed scalable processes, and created a clearly defined strategy. Now it’s about execution.
At this stage, you will take complete control of the website. This will include an increase in base salary as well as the introduction of an incentive structure tied to revenue growth.
A few things we’re looking for
- Content marketing experience
- Proven interest in the content website/affiliate space
- Experience writing and editing web content
- Basic understanding of SEO principles
- Fluent in English
- Familiarity with WordPress
- Basic understanding of HTML
- Familiarity with google analytics/google search console
We’re based in the US just outside of Atlanta, Georgia (EST) but location for this position doesn’t matter. As long as there is some overlap in working hours we’re open to any location. We typically work 9 AM – 5 PM eastern standard time.
Skype interview (30-60 mins). We’d like for this to start as a freelance writing engagement and then if it’s a good fit move to full time from there. But we’re always willing to negotiate for the right candidate.
