JobRack is used by businesses worldwide to hire remote team members for all kinds of roles including developers, designers, project managers, content writers, virtual assistants and many more.
Using a mix of tried-and-tested practices, your creative ideas and digital marketing prowess, your role will be to create marketing campaigns to help us GROW! If that sounds like a challenge that excites you, read on!
Over the past 4 years, we’ve done the hard work of building the core platform, getting initial customers and jobseekers to our platform and
filling hundreds of roles. We have a vision and the drive to make JobRack the best niche remote job platform in the world and we want a highly-skilled, execution-focused marketer to join us.
You’ll be responsible for crafting our messaging, forming our overall marketing strategy, and leading the way on execution. You’ll be supported directly by the CEO, with room to build a team or outsource as we grow.
Right now, we use SEO, social media, email marketing, referrals, testimonials and partnerships—all of these are immature and have huge potential for improvement.
You need to not only constantly tweak and improve on what we already do, but also think bigger—look for ways to really stand out above a crowded landscape of online job boards and hiring services and find a way to make the JobRack brand shine.
Is this you?
The ‘right’ person is crucial. You’re equally comfortable taking time for ‘big thinking’ about the strategy and the right approach vs working at ‘pace’ day to day with clear action plans.
You have strong experience of B2B marketing and can relate to and engage successfully with our target market of entrepreneurs and business owners, especially those with VC funding and teams to hire.
The 80:20 rule is part of your day to day approach with clear consideration of what does and does not make the crucial difference.
You’ve done this work before. And you want to do it again, except even better this time, for an opportunity that can get the most out of your experience and skill set. You’ve seen enough to know what works and what doesn’t.
Things you should know
- We’re bootstrapped: we’ve had to build something our customers actually pay for. This changes how you do things. We do strategy, we experiment, we fail fast and we double down on what succeeds.
- Most of all…. We DO. No sitting back just instructing others to do the work. You need to be willing to get stuck in and do things yourself whilst identifying those tasks that should be delegated or outsourced.
- We enjoy the journey; we’re in this for the long haul. We’re not chasing an exit or the next round of funding. We’re building something we’re proud of and want to keep improving on.
Inbound marketing comes naturally to you—you know funnels and buyer personas, and geek out on using data to always be improving.
As a business we embrace data and love measurement (things that measured get managed), so you need to define and deliver to a set of KPIs and always be using data to make decisions and improvements.
About the role and the work
- The first task is coming up with the top priorities for our overall marketing strategy: redefining our messaging and outreach approaches to optimize around our unique value proposition of Eastern Europe.
- Action in Week 1 – This isn’t a role where you’ll spend months planning to perfection before you start executing.
You’ll be executing in week 1 whilst you learn the business. We have a high expectation that you’ll be earning back your salary and marketing costs quickly with a profit share scheme as we grow.
At the point of writing this job description, we don’t know who’s going to apply for the role. You may be a senior CMO/Head of Marketing looking for part-time or fractional work or an accomplished Marketing Manager that’s made a big difference where you are and now wants the next step up in a full-time role. Or something else entirely!
What that means is we’re open to options both in terms of the number of working hours and the salary level. This is about us getting the right person both for where we are right now, and where we are going.
We are 100% remote and like it that way. You may have a fixed base or you may like to travel, either way, that’s fine so long as you have clear methods of being able to ‘get shit done’ no matter where you are and can have at least a few hours of crossover with Central European Time most days.
