Associate Director, Business Strategy and Operations

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate Director to join our Business Strategy and Operations team.

About the role

This role will be responsible for driving the strategy and implementation for key strategic initiatives in InsureCo. The primary responsibility for this role would be to set the overall department strategy and deploy tactics that allow us to enhance our overall program value.

You will report to the VP, Business Strategy and Operations.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office ( in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Ave), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $158,400 - $207,900 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $142,560 - $187,110 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Set, drive and execute on the department strategy to enhance program's overall value including determining and uncovering new opportunities

  • Identify and drive execution of cost-savings opportunities by collaborating with key business units

  • Program management of key company and department strategy initiatives

  • Continuously evaluate financial and performance metrics dashboards to drive performance improvement and create dashboards for Senior Leadership report outs

  • Drive the budgeting process and the fiscal performance for the team in association with the leadership team

  • Development and growth of direct reports, ensuring that colleagues are supported in professional development

  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in healthcare strategy and operations or related field

  • 4+ years of experience managing individual contributors

  • 3+ years project planning experience

Bonus Points

  • Master's degree

  • Management Consulting experience with a focus on healthcare

  • Experience in leading large-scale cross functional initiatives

  • Experience with Excel and financial modeling experience

Travel

  • Up to 10%

Pay Transparency: 

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
